Texecom Clouds wins Benchmark Innovation Award

We’re delighted to announce that Texecom Cloud has won the Benchmark Innovation Award in the Site Protection Software category.

A web-based portal accessible on any internet-connected device, Texecom Cloud enables security installers to manage multiple alarm systems from one simple interface, simultaneously. This in turn helps them save money and increase revenues by being more efficient and adding value to their customers.

It gives engineers complete control over their alarm system portfolio – this includes safeguards to ensure only the right people have access to the right data. Engineers are restricted to only view and access security systems that are specific to them.

System programming is simple, quick and easily accessible, and there is even the option to create custom programming templates from previous installations or imported Wintex profiles. This reduces the number of programming steps required, guaranteeing consistency from site-to-site and eliminate programming errors.

One of the most important features of Texecom Cloud is remote maintenance and health checks. This reduces the number of times installers need to visit a site to diagnose, maintain, manage and service customer’s alarm panels – it can even eliminate the need to go on site completely.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have won this award,” comments Texecom’s Marketing Director Clym Brown. “The company has invested a great deal into R&D to develop the best, most relevant technology to help our commercial and residential installers adapt to the digital revolution in security. Texecom Cloud, along with our TexecomPro App and our award-winning Texecom Connect connectivity options, are designed to help them increase revenues and delight their customers!”

Benchmark Magazine rigorously tests hardware and software under a range of conditions to see how it compares to the manufacturer’s marketing claims and whether it meets the increasingly sophisticated needs of today’s security personnel.

The magazine says: “We passionately believe that the future of the electronic security sector lies in the creation of innovative and smart solutions. In order to allow installers and integrators to create such solutions, it is vital that manufacturers deliver innovation that both enhances the technological capabilities of their products, and allows those developments to be implemented in a realistic fashion. In order to highlight such advances, Benchmark runs its Innovation Awards scheme, which recognises and rewards innovative thinking.”

Verisure’s New Partnership with Victim Support Seeks to Help Burglary Victims & Increase Crime Prevention Awareness

Verisure to make a donation per each new alarm installed

Verisure, Europe’s leading provider of monitored security solutions and the UK’s leader in smart alarms, has announced a partnership with Victim Support, the leading independent charity in England and Wales for people affected by crime and major incidents. The partnership aims to raise awareness of burglary risks and educate the public about ways to prevent this type of crime.

Horacio Perez, Operations Director at Verisure UK commented: “At Verisure, we believe that feeling safe and protected is a basic human right. As Victim Support’s goal of supporting victims of crime aligns with our vision of people protecting people, we felt the partnership was crucial in helping burglary victims while increasing crime prevention awareness.”

“Burglary not only robs victims of their physical possessions – it can also rob people of their sense of security at home, a place where everyone should feel most safe. The impact can last not only for the first few days, but months after the burglary has taken place,” said Tanya Richardson, Community and Events Manager, Victim Support. “Every year burglary affects over 435,000 households across England and Wales and, even if nothing is stolen, most people feel anxious and less secure in their home afterwards. Verisure’s generous support of our work will help us to ensure that more victims are aware of the support available and get the practical and emotional support they deserve.”

Furthermore, in addition to the agreed donations, Verisure is offering special assistance to customers seeking help from Victim Support, as well as offering them special pricing and priority service. Likewise, Verisure’s customers will benefit from the help provided by Victim Support’s team of specialists.

SICK’s 2D LiDAR Sensor Keeps it Simple

When a single-field laser scanner is all that is needed, SICK’s TiM100 2D LiDAR Sensor offers users a budget level solution with high-resolution performance for reliable security protection of valuable artefacts in museum and galleries.

With a 200° field of view, and the ability to be mounted and aligned to the object needing protection, the TiM100 offers unobtrusive, compact laser scanning for non-contact security of paintings or artefacts without the need for physical barriers.

Part of SICK’s wide range of TiM and LMS laser scanning solutions for industrial, building and internal security applications, the TiM100 is the ideal choice when a simple, compact and low-cost device is all that’s required.

The TiM100 has a monitoring range of up to 3 metres and a maximum 15.7 square metre scanning area. With the benefits of IO-Link interface, it is quick and easy set up. Teach-in can be performed by digital input, or via a PC, and all parameters can be stored for downloading to another device or replacement if required

With SICK’s innovative HDDM+ technology built in, the sensor is able to deliver time-of-flight scanning with consistently stable results which are not affected by the presence of dirt, dust, moisture or ambient light.

Says Neil Sandhu, SICK’s National Product Manager for Imaging, Measurement and Ranging: “When a compact, simple detection device is the most appropriate and affordable solution, the TiM100 is straightforward to set up and configure.

“With simple teach-in and IO-Link capability, the TiM100’s parameters can be easily cloned to provide ‘plug and play’ set-up when a sensor needs to be replaced.”

The TiM100 is the economy option within the TIM series of LIDAR detection and ranging devices, which are installed all over the world. Backed by this experience, SICK’s field evaluation algorithms integrated in the TiM100 ensure excellent reliability and consistency of detection.

The 100mm high by 60mm wide TiM100 device weighs only 90g, so is suitable for many applications where conventional laser scanning detection devices are too large or too conspicuous. Installation is quick and low-cost with a click-in mount and, with a 2.2W power offtake, running costs are low.

SPC Connect is a hosted cloud-based solution designed specifically for installers to monitor, manage, and maintain SPC panels remotely from any location.

The release indicates a significant development pace by the company as it comes just four months after the last feature set of SPC Connect updates in April 2017. The latest features include push notifications, local user management, and alarm verification.

“SPC Connect is designed to enhance the installer’s ability to configure their systems remotely and, with user management enhancements, SPC Connect speeds up the process of adding and configuring users. Italy’s Credito Cooperativo invests in Vanderbilt’s security solutions

Vanderbilt, a global leader in providing state-of-the-art security systems, has announced that its technology is currently being installed across Italy’s Credito Cooperativo (BCC) consortium of banks. Work has already started on Banca di Cesena e Banca di GATTEO di Credito Cooperativo S.Coop, which is benefitting from the specification of Vanderbilt’s SPC5000 and SPC6000 control panels, which provide effective integration of intrusion and access functionality.

BCCs are found throughout the length and breadth of Italy and have served local communities for the past 134 years. There are 317 mutual not-for-profit organisations comprising over 4,300 branches, all of which work together to guarantee a range of products in keeping with the values and identity of a cooperative. BCCs offer all of the banking services normally offered by other financial institutions and look to improve moral, cultural and economic conditions, promote collaboration and teach the benefits of saving and forward planning.

Headquartered in Cesena, Banca di Cesena e Banca di GATTEO Credito Cooperativo S.Coop is the first member of the BCC to initiate a new security infrastructure, which is being implemented by Gatteo based Smart Security. Andrea Mazzini, Smart Security Solution Bank at Smart Security, commented, ‘With over 20 years of experience, we have provided security systems for a diverse range of clients and have used Vanderbilt’s products extensively. We have always found them to be reliable, easy to install and future proof. These qualities mean that they are perfect for BCC.’

Vanderbilt’s SPC is a true hybrid intrusion detection system that meets EN 50131 standards and has unmatched flexibility and scalability. SPC5000 and SPC6000 control panels are being installed at each branch, with the former able to be expanded according to specific customers and project needs with up to 128 zones, 128 outputs, 16 system keypads, 16 doors and eight verification zones. SPC6000 expands upon this functionality with up to 512 zones, 512 outputs, 32 system keypads, 64 doors and 16 verification zones.

The control panels are being fully integrated with Vanderbilt’s pioneering SPC Connect system – a cloud-based solution that allows Smart Security to monitor, manage and control the SPC control panels remotely from any location. By logging in installers can gain access through an internet connected laptop or desktop PC, as well as mobile devices. SPC Connect offers the ability to customise how data is viewed by setting up a feature that allows Smart Security to manage and control access rights to individual panels and groups of panels. This means that tasks such as configuration management, troubleshooting and regular maintenance can be carried out remotely, saving massive amounts of time and money, and also enabling a swift resolution to any issues.

Valerio Vittone, Vanderbilt’s ‎Country Head for Italy, concluded, ‘I am delighted that our cutting edge solutions are being installed across BCC. The high-end operability we provide means that the entire system can be centrally managed, monitored and maintained by Smart Security. As well as ensuring maximum security for all bank branches, this approach is incredibly cost effective.’
