Promotion for Gary at growing DCC

dccDirect Corporate Clothing (DCC) has promoted Gary Tyler to head of sales and account management.

Birmingham-based DCC is one of the UK’s largest providers of workwear, corporate wear and personal protective equipment (PPE) with customers including British Telecom, Jet2.com and Travis Perkins.

Gary has been with the business since its launch in 2001. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the corporate clothing and PPE industries and previously worked for Greenham and First Line Safety.

Previously national sales manager for DCC, Gary’s new role covers business development alongside managing the company’s sales team and account management structure.

Gary said: “I’ve been with DCC since it started and know the business inside out. I’m very proud to be part of the team which has grown the company to the size it is today – we now have more than 30 blue chip clients.”

In the year to October 2016, DCC recorded turnover of £26.5m compared to £21.7m for the same period in 2014-15. Over the same period, staff numbers increased from 100 to 120.

Nick Atkinson, corporate and communications director of DCC, said: “Gary is an integral part of the DCC business and with further growth anticipated, his insight and experience will be invaluable in managing our sales team and ensuring our accounts are well managed and meet client expectations.”

DCC supplies clothing to many of the UK’s biggest businesses. It recently secured major contracts with Balfour Beatty and Geo Amey and also supplies clothing to British Telecom, Mitie and Travis Perkins among many others.

Earlier this year, DCC acquired Leeds-based The Business Wear Company to create a business that has a combined turnover of around £36m.
