KBC & Teletec Connect Seal new Partnership with ThruLink Success

New partnership begins with live video streaming demonstration over a 3G link
London, UK 31 May 2011 KBC Networks, manufacturer of industrial transmission equipment, has cemented a new partnership agreement with Teletec Connect, distributors of professional electronic security products, with a successful trial of KBC’s secure, hardware VPN system. The partnership agreement means that Teletec Connect will now distribute KBC’s IP network transmission, analogue fibre and digital video broadcast ranges throughout Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

The new relationship between Teletec Connect and KBC got off to a flying start with the recent demonstration of KBC’s ThruLink at Teletec Connect’s Stockholm offices. The trial demonstrated ThruLink’s ability to send real-time video over a 3G link with minimal latency using an H.264 encoder with a standard capacity ThruLink unit. The filmed trial, which is available on YouTube, shows Teletec’s CCTV Sales specialist, Thomas Walldof, recording a running clock on a lap top counting to the millisecond. The resulting video stream is sent through a ThruLink 3G link over the internet and back to the same laptop where it is displayed alongside the original timer with hardly any discrepancy between the two.

“We’re really excited about the new partnership with KBC,” commented John Väyrynen, Teletec Sales Manager. “We believe that we can open up new opportunities for our customers – especially with products like ThruLink and KBC’s fibre transmission products.”

KBC’s European Sales Manager, Sarah Moss explained the importance of the new alliance, “Teletec Connect are perfect partners for KBC. They are highly respected in the security market throughout the Nordic region, and with offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Oslo, Copenhagen and Helsinki, they’re ideally positioned to provide local technical support and stock availability for their customers.”
